In the interest of promoting better conversations and reducing redundant redundancy, we have consolidated the former Metra, South Shore, and Chicago Transit Authority forums into the new Chicagoland Commuter & Transit Forum!

Following the recent forum consolidations, some minor changes have been made to better fit the new shared format. Some previously 'Metra Only' threads have been made into general discussions; Construction and Projects, Service Disruptions, and In The News are now open for posts from all agencies. (Take note that the Service Disruptions thread is not meant to recopy the information Metra/CTA/NICTD provide, rather an area to post when the unexpected occurs.) The Railfanning Tips thread from the South Shore forum is also now a general discussion. Also, some Metra threads that had been previously stickied, are now normal posts. While the F40PH Rebuild Program, F40C 611/614 Status, and Locomotive Assignment And Maintenance Changes threads are still important topics, being stickied is simply no longer necessary.

I look forward to working with JamesT4 and MikeF to continue the success of the previous forums, hopefully the new Chicagoland Commuter & Transit Forum has much more to offer. Feel free to post any comments you may have about the direction of the new forum.
