While you wouldn’t think that a class 1 railroad like BN would have a GE 25-ton, I just stumbled across a picture of a GE 25-ton with a BN paint scheme but which was lettered for a leasing company.

Given how most leasing companies don’t bother to repaint the engines they acquire (choosing instead to simply re-letter them), and it is unlikely that a leasing company would repaint an engine to look like it belonged to another railroad, I assume that this engine once belonged to BN.
That being said, I can find no record of a GE 25-ton in any of my engine rosters…

Do any of you know if the engine in the photo was once operated by BN and, if not, why it is sporting BN colors?
