Join RAILROAD.NET at Seashore Trolley Museum on June 10th for a day of fun and excitement!

The oldest trolley museum in America opens its doors for a special event for members of RAILROAD.NET! Join Mike, Jessy, and Otto as we tour their exciting collection, enjoy a picnic lunch, and perhaps even get some instruction time behind the controller! This event is open to any RAILROAD.NET member, as well as their friends and family.

Tentative schedule of events (subject to change):

1. There will be a special tour of the "back forty" and the shops the areas that are usually off-limits to the public. Tour will be conducted by museum volunteer Doug Carrier (Aline1969).

2. A car and instructor set aside for persons wishing to get some controller time.

3. Get different cars that don't normally operate such New York City Subway cars, a Philadelphia PCC, perhaps some Boston cars as well (subject to availability).

4. On site BBQ picnic of hot dogs and burgers (and an option for vegeterians, if needed). The picnic will be an extra-fare option (to be announced- watch for updates).

We will need an accurate headcount in order to plan for the picnic and to qualify for a reduced admission rate. Please e-mail RAILROAD.NET Creative Director Otto Vondrak (click on the "email" button below) with your intention to attend this event no later than June 1, 2007.

We're looking forward to seeing you all there!

Another note, to address some emails that I got this week:

This is a self-guided tour. You must arrange your own transportation to and from Kennebunkport, Maine.

Sorry for any confusion.

For those arriving on Amtrak's Downeaster...

Upon arrival in Saco, Maine, there should be cabs waiting unless you made other arrangements to be picked up at the station. If you get together and cab pool it should cost $ 5-7 a person depending how many ride in the cab. The cost of a cab for 1 person is approx $25-30. Seashore Trolley Museum is on LOG CABIN RD in ARUNDLE/KENNEBUNKPORT. If there is no cab call TWIN CITY TAXI (207) 294-7911.

See you Sunday!
