The WestConn Chapter NRHS and the Penn Central Railroad Historical Society are pleased to announce the 2015 PCRRHS Annual Convention will be held in Norwalk, Connecticut, on September 24-26, 2015. Our convention hotel will be the Hilton Garden Inn on Main Street in Norwalk. The room rate will be $99/night (including breakfast).

Registration for the convention is now open. A registration form is available at the bottom of the page. Online registration is also available at our Society Store site.

The current schedule of activities follows:

Thursday, September 24
On Thursday, 9/24, WestConn Chapter’s restored former PC BERK Tower, with its 68 “Armstrong” levers, will be open for attendees to tour at their leisure. Take in the afternoon commuter rush on Metro-North & Amtrak and enjoy dinner prepared at the Tower. Dinner is included in your registration. You can drive to the Tower or take hotel shuttle van.

Friday, September 25
The annual business meeting will be held at the hotel in the morning.

In the afternoon, enjoy a ride on Metro-North’s Danbury Branch (diesel) and a visit the Danbury Railway Museum. Several pieces of Penn Central equipment are included in their collection.

Slide shows will be presented during the evening at the hotel.

Saturday, September 26
Take a ride on Metro-North’s mainline (electric) to New York City for a tour of iconic Grand Central Terminal. Space is limited.

The convention banquet that evening will be held the hotel. Jack Swanberg, former Penn Central trainmaster and author of the book “New Haven Power,” will present a slide show on his railroading career at the banquet.
