For those interested to know, the last pair of unpatched C&NW units, Dash9's 8646 and 8701 are currently being held at the Illinois Railway Museum. The duration of their stay is unclear. However, it is likely they will remain on the property stored serviceable at least thru Diesel Weekend in July. As of May 28th they were positioned along side the steam storage tracks by barn 9. Perfect for afternoon sun photography. Go out and get them while you can my friends.
