Was curious if anyone has any information on this former Rock Island junction. I drove through there yesterday, and all there is now is a big dirt field where there was once a small yard, roundhouse, and coaling tower. The county road also makes a funny little loop around where the wye to the High Line (McFarland to Belleville) took off from the Golden State Route. Also, does anyone know if helpers were used west of here on heavy freights to assist the climb to Alta Vista during the steam days? The hill brings most trains today to their knees without assistance. Thanks.

I went past there a couple weeks ago to the west. There is nothing left other than a tree and brush choked r-o-w form riley, bala on to clay center
