Ellicott City's issues were Ellicott City's issues. The storm was highly localized and only affected the water shed that ran down the valley that is Main Street Ellicott City to empty into the Patapsco River. Sykesville being about 12 miles West of Ellicott City did not get the same localized storm to park over its water shed. The Patapsco River did not flood. Main Street Sykesville is fine and open for business.
