Are the Hartford line and the Shore line East two different line of the same sytem like mnrr's harlem, hudson, and new haven lines or are the completly independent of each other? They have different web pages, do the have completly different managment etc.

They are two different lines running both CT Rail and Amtrak service.

Hartford Line: New Haven to Springfield

Shore Line East (SLE): New Haven to New London

I believe Amtrak owns the trackage on both lines. As for the two separate webpages, it might be you can get lost on one large webpage so make two distinct pages so there would be no ambiguity.

SLE is a service by CDOT but run by Amtrak

the Hartford line is run by CT rail(CDOT) and Amtrak the CT rail trains are operated by TransitAmerica Services, Inc. a operating company and the Amtrak trains are operated by Amtrak

Amtrak owns everything "beyond" (east of) New Haven;
North to Springfield
East through eastern CT and all of RI.
(beyond which Mass DOT owns everything within its borders, except for that SPG bit)
