This is a train-activated webcam that automatically takes snapshots of passing trains and displays photos of the last 15 or so trains to pass by. This is useful for seeing recent activity and finding out if a particular movement has already passed. It isn't a real-time webcam, but does update every 5 minutes if it senses a train.

Train content includes loads of MBCR and Downeaster activity, and also Pan Am freight.

Enjoy!

Links will only work when accessed from the MBTA forums

Please follow all instructions in the README and HOWTO files before you decide to upload anything.

WHAT CAN I UPLOAD?

Read the agreement on the site.

HOW MUCH CAN I UPLOAD?

Try to keep it to 100 MB per user. There is no hard-limit coded in, but if you exceed that all of your files my not be there next time you log in. Just upload files as you need to post them and things should be fine.

HOW MUCH BANDWIDTH DO I GET?

Don't worry about that. Trust me. I've throttled the domain to 200GB a month, and there is some breathing room with that.

HOW LONG WILL YOU OFFER THIS SERVICE?

Indefinitely, or until problems arise that cannot be dealt with through other means.

CAN EVERYONE SEE MY FILES?

Yes. It keeps people honest.

WHAT IF I SEE SOMETHING OBJECTIONABLE?

Let me know ASAP. I will respond as soon as I receive your message.

WILL THIS WORK...YOU KNOW...AT THE OTHER FORUM?

Yes. This will work at both. Nowhere else.

DISCUSSING OTHER WEBSITES

To clarify: You can discuss whatever web site you want to in the context of MBTA rail operations. What you cannot do it actively solicit our members to join another website. That is against the rules (and in poor taste).

- If you operate a blog, you may post a link to it.

- If you operate a competing forum (that is any forum that is not RAILROAD.NET), you may not advertise it. That is, advertising it in your signature or otherwise drawing attention to it.

- If you read something on another forum that you think may be of interest to a conversation at hand, you may post a link to that thread. Trust me, we'll know when you're abusing fair usage.

Any questions, please direct to me. Thank you!
