Current as it follows, no updates on this yet that I know of.

Locomotive Repair Contract: The MBTA has issued an RFP with bids due on 12/19/2018 for a contractor to repair out of service GP40MCs 1118, 1132, and 1137. Work will be performed in Rochester. Repair would include change out of prime mover, main generator, and other component overhauls. The contract would include options which if exercised would include upgrading 6 GP40MCs with modifications to operate as switchers, identical to work performed on 1116 and 1119 in 2007; options to upgrade 6 GP40MCs to a 26L brake system and install a FastBrake system; options to upgrade 6 GP40MCs with QES3 control systems; options to overhaul the trucks on 6 GP40MCs; options to overhaul main generators and engines on up to 10 GP40MCs and/or F40PH-2Cs; and options to overhaul up to 20 HEP units on GP40MCs or F40PH-2Cs

Are there any pictures of it? Possibly in a new livery similar to the F40 rebuilds? Or maybe even a heritage paint scheme? :-D

1137 is the next unit to be rebuilt after 1136. As of the other day, 1118 and 1132 were stored with the screamers near Covanta, and 1137 was inside the shop at Rochester. Wonder if it'll be in MassDOT paint...

An E-Bell and LED headlights is not -3 specs.

The next ones that are currently being repaired in-house are 1120 and 1139. Does anyone know if they are getting rebuilt like 1126 or not as bad? I know 1137 is in Rochester.

I also have a feeling that 1118, 1132, and 1137 are going to be in blues like 1136 is. We shall see when they return to service whenever that is as mass coastal always does a great job at what they do best.

1120 has completed its overhaul repairs at bet. I wonder if it got led lights and an ebell like 1126 did. 1139 is next to come out of the overhaul out of bet and 1137 is next from being overhauled at Rochester.

Looks like it’s an end of an era for the steel bells on the engines and ctc’s. I wonder why 1126 needed led lights if 1120 didn’t get them? We shall see if 1139 gets the same things as 1126 or 1120. To me it’s weird if 1126 is the only gp40 that needs led lights in the entire fleet. It also could be that 1120 is a massdot engine and that they don’t want led on those. I only know as much as it gets posted on the roster and what you guys spot which we all have access to obviously.
