VRE Derails

Around 6:35AM, on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 5 VRE Train #304 derailed at Possum Point, just after the Quantico Bridge at the switching point. The 6-train conisisted of Kawasaki cars. The last 3 cars and the locomotive jumped the tracks. Only 4 minor injuries and a conductor were injuired. This is the fist derailment in VRE's history.

Looks like one of VRE’s EMD GP40s

saw the equipment up close last week ... nothing remarkable to report.

can't discuss anything until the NTSB releases their reports but i'll have some good pictures and everything once they are public domain
