Heads up, folks... The NYS&W had brought snow plow # 91 out of semi permanent storage(or so it seemed) and is plowing and breaking ice on the southern division mainline today. WS-1, with CSXT GP40-2 # 4429 shoving, departed Little Ferry just shy of 8 AM. Train went through PC about 8:30 AM. Plan is to shove west to Pelton Road, where the Middletown & New Jersey, with GP 9 # 773 will meet the WS-1, get behind the plow(a little shuffling will be required), and then plow out the Hudson Secondary to Hudson Jct. the plow will then be used on the M& NJ Tomorrow, Feb 4, on the Walden and Montgomery branches out of campbell Hall, before being returned to the NYS&W. Catch it if you can....

im surprised they would bring the plow out for a nj run considering the 100/99 went out monday and im sure locals have also. Is the HS covered that well or is the M&NJ really buried under snow and they needed the assistance?

Maybe they'll pull the plow out again next Thursday too ;)

The issue, as I understand it, is ice build up on crossings. Plus, yes, the M& NJ is that much deep in snow. Yesterday, the crew found themselves stuck in snow and ice in Greycourt NY with their B30-7. In any event, its something different....
