None really...its just the NYSWTHS that owns the 142 and passenger cars. They just run down there instead of on the NYSW since NS and CSX came down hard on the NYSW for running passenger excursions without the proper insurance.

Jeff,

The NYS&W and AFAIK the Tech Society never ran trips without the proper insurance. Its just that when the NYS&W bought back the stock, with CSX and NS money they placed new, much higher, limits on the insurance policies that must be carried. That effectively ended all passenger trips on the NYS&W.

amoreho1,

The NYS&W Tech Society now has an agreement of some kind with the owner of the Bel Del to run passenger trains on the Bel Del line. The 142 has been relettered and rebadged at least once as a Bel Del engine. Not sure what lettering it is running with at this time.

So there is no direct connection between the NYS&W Railway and the Bel Del Railroad or its parent the Black River & Western.

You forgot to mention the relationship with NJT was sunk by T&HS practices I won't mention here for fear of being b**tched out, so the Bel-Del is something of a last resort in NJ (Literally considering its on the VERY westeren edge of the state). It will only be a matter of time until the steam goes to their heads again and they will be kicked off the B-D.

Save the PM's I don't want to hear it.

Thats not a connection at all.

The truth of the matter, no matter how its spun, is that the bel-del is a last resort.
