Norfolk Southern train Kills, 56 year old Women

A 56-year Emmaus woman was struck and killed Saturday morning by a Norfolk Southern train, police said.

Pamela Gaughan was lying on the railroad tracks when an eastbound train, carrying 117 cars, hit her, according to Emmaus police and a Norfolk Southern spokeswoman.

The incident occurred around 6:10 a.m. Saturday, between the Sixth Street crossing and the Fourth Street overpass.

Police are investigating.

Pamela Gaughan was lying on the railroad tracks

Not much of an investigation necessary. Unless there was rope involved, she was either suicidle, intoxicated, or maybe had a history of mental illness.
