I've been hearing from several people that I know, who are railfans and maybe about 1 or 2 railroad websites that they actually have some intermodal crews for Norfolk Southen that actually make the trip from Croxton Yard to Chicago, Illinois. I want to know is this true or not, I thought the most they go was Harrisburg< but I heard that if the crew has enough time they can make the full run to Chicago, because I know driving a car from New Jersey to Chicago can be done in a little less than 12 hours, but can a NS intermodal hot train do it without swapping crews?
Absolutely not.
Croxton to Harrisburg, harrisburg to conway, conway to ????
I'm guessing at two crew swaps west of conway. Right now we are having difficulty gettign from Harrisburg to Conway with one crew. Too often its taking a recrew to make the trip.
