To give mebbe too much detail, WL is the location shorthand for the Willows, particularly the CPF-WL interlocking, MP BF33.72 for the T's Fitchburg Line, and MP F313.77 for where the PAS portion of the Freight Main Line merges with the T at the east.
For those who haven't yet seen it, you can enter Willows Road, Ayer, in GEarth and look a bit west to see the merge.
As far as the Worcester Main Line -- and other lines, as well -- the earlier suggestions hold. There are changes in in trackage and interlockings because of the Wachusett Extension, not to mention signal changes system-wide. For the Worcester line in particular, there is now officially an "X" prefix for mileages, probably as good an omen as any of its possible lack of PAR future.

MPX 25 is actually somewhere around Rt 2 and marks the end of main track for the Worcester Main Line. About three miles through the Ayer Hill Yard, CPF AY would be MPX 28.01 if it were referenced with a Worcester Main mileage, but that is never used. CPF AY would be referenced by its Boston-Fitchburg mileage as designated by the MBTA, which is MPBF 35.75.

If it helps you get a sense of the mileage at all, since you're looking to learn mileposts...

MPX 2.92 — Barber (P&W switch)
MPX 4.61 — Burncoat (begin/end Main Track)
MPX 7.80 — West Boylston (detector)
MPX 16.85 — Clinton West (siding switch)
MPX 17.30 — Clinton East (siding switch)
MPX 23.19 — Still River (it is/was a popular recrew and tie-down spot, pre-CSX, and a good spot to hold out of the yard)

This map has the geographic location of mileposts for most rail lines, including the Pan Am Worcester Main Line:
