I was surprised to come across a small CSX Trans-Flo yard (if that's what you call it) in Greenville, SC this weekend, while I was walking along a bike trail that was formerly the Greenville & Northern RR. The CSX yard is just south of the main Norfolk Southern/Amtrak station and yard in town.
There was only a GP40 and a slug hooked onto a short string of cars, so I'm guessing that CSX activity in Greenville must be secondary and only a branch line for a few customers. Am I correct?
Also, was this CSX route formerly the Piedmont & Northern or something else?
Thanks.
