and 8098 got repainted in Chattanooga last night...jk. That's what NS seems to be doing right now. 8098 will be going out on 15N? tomorrow to Ohio. There is a rumor that it will be on 13T to Binghamton, but I dont think that is true.

Not only the last GP38-2, but the last of the four axle units of all varieties... :-(

On the bright side, the SD40E program hasn't been moving as quickly lately, if you know what I mean ;-)

Conway Yard 4-1-12
NS 3810 (Seemed to be stored with a few other SD38s)
NS 5420 (Working west end)
NS 5441 (I'm not positive on it being the 5441 but it has been in the Pitt area lately and there was another 50 working the west end)

Wasn't this for some kind of luxury train service in Pennslyvania?
Yes, the Greenbriar Express. And yes it's former NS. They're only keeping the 8212 in blue and 8211 in black up in Lansdale from what I've heard. Selling the others.

Just got the latest conrail qaurterly in the mail today, and CSX actually has 1 conrail blue unit left on roster. (well 2 if you count an old parts unit) But it was reported that the unit in question is an SD40-2 loco, #8865. And according to the article the unit has been seen shuffling around, so possibly 1 last CSX blue unit might return to the rails yet again. (proving that somehow original conrail blue units continue to defy odds and survive in blue paint) And also that appaerently CSX missed one. :)
