Interbay/Balmer yard Caboose

Post by theseaandalifesaver » Mon May 28, 2018 6:55 pm

Today on a bike right right by the BNSF maintenance facility in in the Balmer yard I noticed there were 2-3 cabooses near the shed. They appeared to have not been used in years. I was wondering if BNSF still uses cabooses on any of their trains. I've never seen them and I've been railfanning in Seattle since I moved here 4 years ago.

Thanks!

Last I checked, BNSF used a caboose as a shoving platform on the Monticello Sub, Twin Cities Division. Of course, that’s been a decade, so I don’t know whether that’s still the case.
