Passenger cars sighted on Cuba subdivision 8/12/2014
I was in St Clair, MO on Tuesday 8/12/2014 and just happened to catch sight of a BNSF locomotive pulling several (5 to 7) passenger cars westbound. I was on MO 30 and the tree obscured much of my view, but at least two had Santa Fe sideboards. The cars did not appear occupied. Does anyone know what this train was and where it was going?

Inspection train or employee special would be my guess.

Just a note: BNSF now uses an ex-Santa Fe PV as one of its track inspection cars. I normally see it mated with a PS or ACF 70' baggage car (I suspect for tools).
An easy spotting feature for this car is one of the standard windows has been replaced with a small bay type window poking out. You can often see them sitting down in KC downtown, on the KCT stub trackage at Union Station/the Freight House.

I've seen a lot of private rail cars in the northwest and west coast in general. Is it possible they were private rail cars?
