I am working on an HO New Jersey Transit GP40FH and am wondering how short the rear of the fuel tank is. I am using a Bachmann RTR GP40 as the frame with an Athearn BB nose and cab from a GP38 and a BB F45 as the rest. Sine the fuel tank comes off the frame, would it be easy to shorten the frame the tank rests on?

2 1/8 inch from front of fuel tank, you may save ALOT of trouble and just get shell from IHP and use an athearn BB G$40 frame
