New Walthers Metroliner Preproduction Photos

Hopefully these are an indication of how good the Amfleets will look as well! Everything will look even better with a metal finish and paint on it!

Yeah, they will look nice with the Metal Finish on them. My Metal Finish Superliners make the Diner I got some time ago stick out like a sore thumb.
Why does the model with the Stemman Pantograph, have a smooth lower portion? I haven't seen any metroliner like that before. these BETTER be preproduction!

I'm talking about the very last picture posted. Not the big broadside photo of the model (which I also thought was a bad angle in terms of light), the small one that is focusing on the rear end of the model. That one is WAY to close to the model, and the fluting is not going to dissappear like magic after only three flutes, and then appear perfectly smooth because of bad light.
Also, plenty of small rivet details line the doors and vents in this picture and are visible.

From the "look" of the shots,they were done "in studio" with harsh lighting,white background.
The "back scatter" from the background may have "washed" out some of the details.

OH, Ok... I see what picture you're referring to.. Yes, you're right. That's odd. However, the other cars have full fluting so I would guess this is a screw up or a really early sample and it's been corrected based on the other photos.
I hope Walthers fixes that Arrow III style pantograph a bit and sell them seperate. I think everyone who modeling an Arrow III (me included), would have so much more of an easier time.
Glad they finally put photos of the damn thing out after its too late to place a preorder. I really dont know what is going on in their heads over there. I am not preordering a car if all you are going to show me is photos and concept drawings of the real cars. I want to see what I am about to spend $75 a car on.

eh, you can probably still put in order in now and still get some. Its still a pain in the butt though.

I am not wasting my time ordering these things. As nice as they might look so far, I want to see it completed and I dont want to pay the full $75. Ill wait till a dealer has them on sale. All I want is one cafe and possibly one coach for my mail train.
