A Channel 4 tv news programme about migration showed some shots of track in southern Mexico. It was covered in grass and looked as though it had not been examined for years. It is not surprising that there are no passenger services in most of the country. They said there was a freight train every three days on what was probably a main line. The migrants were waiting and hoped to ride, though the actual news item showed that the train didn't slow or stop.
