Hello,

I am relocating to Park City, UT from New England and will be doing some work in Salt Lake City, UT.

Is there any local railfan group in the Salt Lake area? I checked the NRHS "Promontory Chapter" web page, but the phone number on that page is for someone who sadly has passed away, and there is no email contact info for the chapter. Are there any railfans on this forum who are active in the Salt Lake area? Railroads out West are certainly much different than in New England, that's for sure!

Thanks so much for any info. Best regards, Patrick

You might have better luck with the local NMRA chapter, and check out the RR Museum at Odgen Union Station,
they might be able to point you in the right direction.

YOu could go see the people who work on restoring an old narrow gauge locomotive every Sat (?) at Ogden Union Station (the north end of the bldg, with an open door onto the platform, not the street side). The museum desk could tell you the hours and whether they do it in winter.
