I noticed that the M,A & N is replacing ties and cleared the ROW north of strip steel along Erie Blvd in Rome. I was so excited, because I initially thought that they were scrapping the line, but nope, brand new ties. Anyone know what business(s) they plan on serving? My guess is the old Rite Aid building, but that would mean that new rails will need to be laid at the Rt. 46 crossing.

After doing some research, it appears that Indium Corporation acquired a warehouse located at success Dr., so that would be my guess, and guessing that it's the old Rite Aid distribution center. This totally made my day! Gonna have to re-lay new track at the rt. 46 crossing if that's the case.

I took a drive down Success Dr. The old Rite Aid is now the Runnings distribution center, and unless GVT plans on extending their track, I saw no other businesses with sidings still in place. Old sattelite photos show an additional siding to the north of the one to Runnings, which is now the ware house owned by Indium, but the main has since been scrapped leading to Indium. Whatever the case, great to see a railbed being fixed, and not lifted!!!!

It's possible that the track is being restored for car storage. It's a cheap way to add track space quickly.

Could be? I've noticed that when I geotag my photos on Flickr, it has the line active all the way to Tannery Rd, as well as a siding to Indium now. A few weeks ago, the map only displayed the line as far north as Rome Strip Steel. It will be interesting to see what all the track improvements are for.
