It appeared that Via #911 was extremely accident-prone early in its life -- as to what exactly happened, I don't know.

The whistle shrill still lingers on

There was an urban legend about it being renumbered 921, this never happened....because some thought the number 911 was cursed, because of what it's often associated with now.

Amtrak has a 911 and it's never had problems!
