I think things definitely got tighter in the wake of 9/11. Back in the early 90s I tagged along on one of my brother's Cub Scout trips to the Earle pier where we got to tour one of the Navy supply ships!

Likely a busy week ahead: two ships are in the port according to the publicly available Marine Traffic app. However, I will not be seeing the train

Just don't post anything and they should leave you alone. That being said, I wouldn't "chase" more than a couple of crossings before I go somewhere else, don't want to give them the wrong idea by meeting them at every crossing...

My suggestion: If you really like seeing the Navy train but are worried that you are gonna get caught, why not join a train club? I have recreated the train in o scale but had to take down my videos even though I wasn't caught so that Earle wouldn't spy on me

I would but time and money is a luxury rarely afforded to me right now so I usually drive out to any particular train I wanna go see or ride behind. Earle really only interests me because of their motive power. I LOVE old and/or obscure diesel engines, but I got other options for seeing that stuff that won't potentially get me in trouble with the military. Raritan Central for example, or Woodstown Central if I feel like making the 70 plus mile trek down that far.

That said there is a very nice N scale club in Jamesburg I may join at some point in the future, or maybe that Live Steam club in New Gretna.

Also mjp I don't they are gonna spy on you for having one or two videos of a model train. Only if you regularly posted the real train online since then they at least have a reason to get in touch with you.

Im still "facinated" with this USN Earle "getting in touch with you". Did anyone ever identify themselves with name and position at Earle? Has anyone contacted Earle? I still have my suspicions that this is someone acting on their own, maybe an earle employee, maybe not. Is it an Earle MP?

I know, not worth the effort to find out. Could have something to do with wars in Ukraine or or mideast. Still, all the spy satellites can tell exactly whats happening. Worry about military trains being posted on the web is just paranoia.
A former friend of mine was an MP, and he had ADHD and and was paranoid about everything!

@pdtrains You dont even need spy satellites, you can see the whole thing from Google Earth lol. The yards, the sidings, pretty much anything above ground.

You'd think they have more to worry about over there. Aren't some of their cars radioactive? Isn't there some sort of toxic waste problem on site?
