Atlas and Micro Trains have also done N scale varations of Earle's Baldwins and SW1200s

I was about to do a special run of the Earle Baldwins, but just after we were about to nail it down....they announced the USN SW. SO i said...Oh come on...... And we cancelled the run for the Earle VO-1000's. I think they just forgot that I was going to do a USN engine. And they were going to be the Earle numbers, too.

Oh well...

Now that MTH has produced one of Earle's SW1200s, MTH and Atlas O need to do Earle's original Baldwin VOs, their Gensets and their sole 44 tonner along with some USN boxcars and flatcars

The train went through Middletown just before 4:30 this afternoon, heading back to Colts Neck. SW1200 #4 and VO1000M #1, followed by a mixture to empty flats and boxes, totaling 19 cars. Despite being empty, there was an escort

NICE picture! Not many places where you can see an SW1200 and a VO1000 together on a train.

Do they still use those Gensets?

It seems that only the 647 is operational at this time. Apparently the Gensets are junk, which makes sense

Considering what they haul maybe two rebuilt GP9s or GP38s would've been better for them. Slightly ironic the old Baldwins keep going yet the new engines are barely seen now lol. Long live the old diesels!

Not to mention Earle still has their other SW1200 and their only SW9 still sitting at their engine shop according to Google satellite images. They can use them again.

Didn't they get those Gensets only about ten years ago?
