I'm not expecting to find very much.

This r.o.w. was abandoned in 1886. 128 years ago.

Any r.o.w. I find will be hard to determine if it was built by the railroad or built by man.

It was built to minimum standards so most of it has been eroded by nature.

A lot of the TV&C was built on trestle work. They had planned on going back and filling it in.

Pat Connors said he read accounts of gravel trains to Rushford in order to fill in the trestle work.

Here is the TV&C grade through a swamp north of Crystal Lake:

The B&S grade is between the TV&C and Rt 98

^Yes, I was there yesterday. It looks like former grade. There was still a lot of snow on the ground so I'll go back soon to double check.

Reports that the TV&C in 1891 had 4 Howe truss bridges:

Attica
Arcade
Fish Lake - bridge over BR&P - labeled as "trussed beam bridge"
Cuba - bridge over Oil Creek

^I actually found it years ago. Just rediscovered it.

It's trees on a mound of earth which could be the TV&C grade before it crossed the BR&P. (It looks more like a possible grade when the leaves are off the trees.)

The highway is on the B&S grade. The bridge over the BR&P is ahead to the left.

The TV&C would have curved to the left ahead to cross over the BR&P.

Two questions:

1. Was this ever operated by the Attica & Freedom RR?
2. Was this stretch ever operated by the Buffalo Attica & Arcade RR?

By reading the Edward A Lewis book, it looks like the line below the Sandusky gravel pit and Crystal Lake was never operated after the TV&C discontinued operation in 1886.

I hiked in today where the BA&A came out of Moore's Pond to head to Crystal Lake:

I was looking at some old posts from the old Railroad.net forum and read some discussion where the TV&C grade was along Rt 446 outside of Cuba:

This was near the beginning of the 1000 foot long trestle that went over Oil Creek and the PRR Rochester Branch. It connected to the Erie and BE&C in Cuba.

By looking at the 1960 aerial photographs of Cuba, it's easy to see the TV&C grade where the Erie's Cut Off Line crossed it:

I wonder if there are any stone piers to be found?

Yep, and you can trace it north from there through the woods to where it crosses Cuba Lake Outlet. Have you ever gone looking for abutments there?

There might be something NE of the junction of S. Cuba Lake Road and S. Shore Road, in the woods.
