Here is a computer simulation of a trip to downtown Miami via the FEC from Metro-Rail Transfer. I think it is interesting to look at.

This came from the Tri-Rail website. The connection at IRIS is presently in the construction stage or was when I was down there a couple of months ago. It might be close to finish by this time. You need to scroll down to the bottom for the video presentation which makes it interesting.
