How and when were the CRRNJ passenger stations and associated parking lots along what is now the NJT Raritan Valley Line transferred to municipal and state government ownership?

your post made me curious so i took a quick look at the Hunterdon County tax map for High Bridge (figured it's tiny so a good one to look at) to get a clue. It looks like the parcel on the map says it's 'owned by NJT (formerly Conrail)' but no mention of previous owners obviously. I tried to see if the Deeds are online and then one could look up the deed history for the lot. But looks like those aren't online, at least that i could find.

I guess if one were really adventurous they could go to the county clerks office and dig a little for what the deeds might say?
