Pertaining to all railroading subjects, past and present, in New Jersey

Two of the Safety Training Trains are in New Jersey as I write. The Dow Chemical Train is at Port Reading for three days starting tomorrow and the CSX / MCVX (Massachusetts Call and Volunteer Fireman's Association) train is at South Kearny. Generally when one of these trains or the NS OL OCS comes in I can rely on this and a couple of other chat groups for an almost real time mile-by-mile commentary on the train's progress. There hasn't been a word. You guys are slipping.

Access to the CSX train at South Kearny is Invitation only. They are running a specialized course in crude oil for the first-in fire departments along the route and space is at a premium.

Registration for the Dow Train at Port Reading (see attached flyer)is is still open to open to any emergency response personnel or public official and can be done on a walk in basis. NJOL will be giving the Fireground Safety portions of the Railroad Safety for Emergency Responders Course at Port Reading.

The bad news is that the weather forecasts indicate a better than even chance for rain and thunderstorms during all of the sessions.
