Hi guys,

on a recent trip on GO Transit, I realized that the braking behaviour of the MP40PH-3C locos (with bi-level cars) is pretty close to the way that freight trains brake. Does anyone know if these locos have a single release or multi release brake?

Thanks a lot, Andrew

Most passenger trains use graduated release. It was used when I worked in passenger service for BN, and would guess so with GO too. The locomotives likely have blended braking too. If the throttle is closed, while a brake application is made, the dynamic brakes automatically come on additionally.
