Clearly you need more tracks entering the stations - at least one more.

its a short term problem George . (hopefully ) .
The britomart terminal was designed as a through station , the tracks are supposed to carry on underground , and complete a loop . Hence 2 tracks were thought to be enough . once the loop is built 1/2 the trains will enter form the loop side as well . unfortunately the govt has dragged its heels , and patronage has risen , and still no concrete plans to build the underground loop .
there is room in the tunnel for another track apparently , so it would seem logical to put it in . unfortunately logic is often missing , and i havent heard of plans to put the third track in .
