Prior to push pull operations, was there a turntable at Suffern, NY or a wye to turn locos?

If so, where was it located? and any remnants visible?

There was a turntable in Suffern yard. I don't know if any remnants are visible. I will ask at the Suffern Railroad Museum this weekend and post if I find anything out.

There is a Suffern RR museum?

It is a small museum, in a building rr west of the Suffern station, by the Thruway overpass, where the Piermont Branch starts. I think it's only open weekends, but I'll find out.

The museum is a small building, looking like a small old-time railroad station, right next to the Thruway overpass. The building actually was a 1908 Wells Fargo Express building. The sign says it is open 2-4 on Sunday. I was advised that one should call because the hours aren't reliable. In fact, no one was there Sunday during the stated hours. The phone number is (845) 369-7076.

Yes, that's the museum.

I'm guessing the turntable was gone after steam if not earlier. It was long gone before push pull . (1970.) The Geeps and RS-3s could easily run around the stillwells at Suffern. I wonder if they ever ran light power down to Waldwick to be turned there?

Push pull was actually 1971...sorry.
