Hi all -

Finding that a mystery 4-4-2 which I bought is an SP A-6, reading that 2 (#3000/3001) were painted in Daylight colors & handled the independent "Sacramento Daylight" section of the "San Joaquin Daylight", and locating a (b&w) pic of #3000 in Daylight colors, I'd like to model the train.

Anyone know a/the normal consist of this section in steam days?

Any info much appreciated! TIA.

regards,

Terry

Did not find much.

I have a 1947 Official Guide and it does not list equipment details other than to say "coaches and coffee shop lounge, LA to Sacramento". Also, "coaches, diner, tavern lounge, LA to SF."

I do not not know if the train was still steam then or not.

Hi Bill -

Once again, you're a sterling fellow & a credit to mankind!:-D

If you've also seen my question posted in Railroad Operations, you'll understand that your info is quite helpful. And it's a LOT more than I've found.
I don't even know it's route & schedule.
I'm PRETTY sure it was steam-hauled into the early '50s but not positive. In any case, that's all I care about.

Another fellow (who's father, grandfather & uncle worked on this very train at Lathrop, Cal. into the '50s) is also searching his memory & memorabilia for me.

I'm becoming more & more confident that the answer to that other question is a resounding "no"!

And once again, I'm in your debt.
Thanks.

regards,

Terry
