reading some of the first link about the old cars and some riders comment, I think it it was really pathetic about the chessie letting ths cars go unrefurbished, it was on purpose so the line could be abandoned, detract ridership and prove it unworthy, blah, that was a terrible thing to do.

I think PC and SP did the same thing in the late 1960's when they decided passenger trains suck. Funny how some other roads maintained immaculate passenger trains until the end, such as BN and ATSF. Mebbe has something to do with the reasons UP can't move the sunset worth beans, while BNSF moves the chief like magic. It's pretty apparent B&O's passenger department wasn't allowed to work their magic at CSS. Strange as it sounds, after the B&O/C&O alliance management put B&O's passenger people to work on the PM ferries up in michigan, trying to increase their passenger count.
