Great pix of the Railfan and railroad 50th aniv celebration on the woodstown central, on trainorders.com
They had one of the baldwin switchers , 3 green/gold lettering "Woodstown Central: coaches now (appear to be ex-Reading MU;s) and a PRR sleeper in tuscan with PRR lettering.
Also their 0-6-0 #9 was freshly painted and up and running and looked great.
www.trainorders.com U can see the pix small if not a member.

Went to see the steam engine Saturday. Managed to get some nice shots of the 11:00 train despite huge crowds and to some extent dangerous drivers!! Hopefully we see more of this engine going forward.ImageImage

There's been some updates to the ongoing issues between Pilesgrove Township and SMS. It's a very long read though.

Interestingly, a few other parties have also chimed in on this, with some supporting SMS.

For those of u who dotn want to spend a half hour reading thru this......As far sa I can figure...

Pilesgrove twp has filed suit against SMS for the use of 3 structues on SMS property, without comforming to zoning laws and applying for permits. SMS says as a freight carrying RR , and part of the interstate railroad system, they conform to federal law, not local laws.

Mannington is objecting to the rehab of a wye track in its township. SMS has answered that the track is part of the Salem branch, and rehabbing track does not need to be reviewed by the local township. The wye was overgrown, and the town politicos apparently didnt know it was there.

To me this looks like the usual over reach by very local politicians for money and power. IMHO, SMS is trying to bring business to the local community, and the dopes in office , are just being dopes.

Wye is done already so not sure what Mannington thinks they can do about it. Also it's Pilesgrove township who's upset not Penns Grove. Nice to know Salem County is siding with SMS.

Friendly reminder that these are also usually the first people who remind you to pay your taxes, after intentionally doing stuff like this to make you miserable. Sincerely hoping the STB sides with SMS.

Here's some other filings relating to this matter:
