I have several photos of #202 at Wilmington Shops after the A/C rebuild. I need to locate them and I will post. I recall a weekend of visits there where it was hooked up to a Pooch (P30ch) and shuffled back and forth on the yard tracks with a bunch of "suits" on board. I don;t recall it l...

not aware of many pictures, #202 is currently stored at AAR test center in Pueblo colorado. 202 TTCI, DOT Avondale, Pueblo CO (rebuilt as test-bed following wreck in 1994)(crash tests 31 Jan 2002) That's another thing - I dug up video of those crash tests with the Silverliner II's. I question wheth...

Hello all, I just recently came across the history of this unit - rebuilt by ABB in 1988, 24" carbody extension, etc.; understandably, I was therefore prompted to locate a photo of the post-rebuild configuration. So far, I've run into this ingle photo http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPictur...

Latest photo of 100 on its return trip. Boy that cab door window is REALLY tiny. Anybody know why so small? There's more to that then meets the eye (though I can't answer it myself). The door is taller then it was pre-rebuild, but the top edge sits at the same spot. Compare it with this: http://www...

Try to keep this thread pertinent to the subject, fellows - we're running off topic (shouldn't even be in the TRCX forum either, though there isn't any other place for it).

Any further speculations/debates will render the thread locked.

Miami's Metrorail has always been a very marginal system, so much so that it probably shouldn't have been built to begin with. The results were marginal. Had the routing of the system through the city been different, it might have made sense. For that matter, the 72' cars were a foolish idea as wel...

P.S.: I am gradually fixing up IHP-shell #802, once and for all - not done, of course. Excuse the center and front sections of the decal - they're still smoothing themselves with Micro Sol. Sloppy job, but effective - and considering the state of the model, there is not sufficient reason to put sign...

Very nice photos.

Looks to be the same consist getting shuffled between locomotives occasionally - is it not? I have not kept track of the car #'s.

I caught wind of those photos a few days ago. I've been wondering what the reasoning is behind doing so. Doesn't make much sense.

Incidentally, this is an old post, but I thought I'd mention this for anyone looking for the answer: Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tri-Rail is the only place with the bi-level Colorado Railcar DMU, right? Nope - Alaska Railroad got one too. The ARR version has a cab at both ends, roadnumber #751. I b...

I believe Tri-Rail likes to overpower some of there trains (especially on weekends) just in case one fails. Applies only to the double-headers. As for applying this theory to the DMUs: It would make sense if the consist in question consisted of a DMU + DMU trailer + DMU + locomotive, or DMU + DMU +...

Less wear and tear on the underpowered DMU's.

The bid appeared in a Railway Age Magazine and it was forwarded to me. To my knowledge no new cars have been ordered and they do not have the funds for any new cars either. I have no idea why this appears and I think it has no substance at this time. I'm inclined to agree with you, Noel - sounds mo...

Nothing on the MD website. While I don't particularly doubt the claim, I'd like to see the official source myself.
