Nearly every transportation project in the State of Connecticut has been postponed indefinitely. Included in that is the CDOT fleet replacement and Phase III of the Springfield Line. Phase III was everything North of Windsor and the new stations.
There are some mumblings of it not launching at all and CT will just pay to add an additional car to each shuttle. The busway is transporting too much air to discontinue

How are they going to potentially squeeze five or more additional freight trains in between the 24 passenger trains that will be running witho...
Aside from 476/479 the last two winters, they haven't run at all since August 2015. Only one or two of them in the morning and one or two at night will continue to Greenfield sometime in the spring. A couple of the existing shuttles will be replaced different ones (ex 493 will be replaced by 471 or ...
I"m guessing the trains will do a fast turn at Greenfield, unload passengers, load passengers, then leave, no idle time. Or does Greenfield have a passing track now? I haven't been up there since they built the new station. I believe the plan is for the morning trains to deadhead up to arrive 3...
Effective 1/2/18 trains 490, 470, 476, 495, 493 and 479 will be reinstated.

Spotted in Hartford CT yard on new track #four are 17 brand new looking Amtrak Hopper cars in yellow paint and have solar panels on them. They have been there a few days now with no engine in site and I can't tell if they' re loaded or unloaded. To me they look unloaded of any ballast at this time....
I don't think they plan on adjusting any times until the work is completed and the speeds are increased.
Part of the Meriden high level platform on Track 2 goes into service on Monday morning. Please mind the gap...
As of 10/15...
Track 2 is in service in its entirety from Mill River to Willow
Quarry Interlocking has been removed
562 territory has been extended upto Willow on Track 2
Track 1 is out of service between Holt and Willow for 562 cut in

It is currently being replaced.
I've been hearing some mumbling that the bustituted shuttles will be returning soon and crews may start qualifying to Greenfield.
