Saw operator stop at 3 crossings and blow his horn, and then the gates started coming down. Not sure how safe that is for the operator.... Gary It is safe because the track equipment came to a stop. What you described is exactly what is supposed to happen. It is not a train, the gates are not going...

The gates at North Station are around the waiting area. Gates are not at the doors, that would be unsafe. At South Station they will be in the new concourse created by the tower being built. That is why the platforms have been shortened. Long term the gates will be used during events. To start while...

There was going to be a development on the east side of the railroad. It never came to be. As it stands today, Riverworks is land locked in private property. There is no public access for pedestrians or a vehicle.

The gates do communicate with the mTicket system to make sure it is valid and not a screen shot.

Trains skip Lynn, and you need to use a shuttle bus to/from Swampscott to get to Lynn. There is an alert explaining it on the Ts site.

Yes, and paper round trip tickets will get you two taps. mTickets will also allow you to pass by one time.

Of course they know what they are supposed to do, the problem is they aren't doing it anyways, which means that either their overseers/bosses aren't aware of this or don't care enough to do anything about it. The Conductors have a variety of reasons for not collecting fares. Short staffed, equipmen...

Why would it deadhead on the wildcat? If it's the last haverhill train of the day then the singletrack isn't going to be an issue returning to somerville? The real reason the train returns via the NH Route is because in terminal it can get to BET without having to cross onto the draws. The Eastern/...

Fitchburg Line: Doesn't the MBTA own Willows to Wachusett? I suspect they can keep the freight out of their way (also easier with hourly frequencies). I wrote the T a few months ago - not sure why the meetup is scheduled between Concord and West Concord when the two stops west of W. Concord (S. Act...

Currently this train puts away in Bradford. Traditionally the last Haverhill train always deadheaded back as mentioned above. It would operate the Wildcat unless there was some work on the NH Route.
