First of all, I don’t think I’ve ever seen SEPTA be so proactive with providing future information to riders. But there’s a lot of work coming to the Wilmington/Newark line. From March-June, work on the Marcus Hook interlocking, followed by track work between Marcus Hook and Claymont in June, removi...

I ride 9254 daily. It has yet to receive a new locomotive. 2308 all last week, and 2307 all this week so far.
2308 is still going strong. It ran the Newark PM express today.
This presentation from October highlights the progress on the construction. Slide 7 indicates that the trolley detour will continue through the end of 2019. http://www.95revive.com/docs/default-source/default-document-library/girard-int-near-neighbors-mtg-10-25-17-displays.pdf" onclick="wi...
So um, this was posted on the SEPTA main page earlier this evening:
Lansdale/Doylestown : Outbound train #570 is operating with delays of up to 30 minutes due to an unruly passenger aboard the train.
2308 was on the Newark express last night. Tonight too. Broke down in Newark though, so inbound passengers had to take train 1256 instead. At what point do they write this thing off? Sheesh. My bad, jumped the gun on that slightly. I found out yesterday that it was a door issue that kept the train ...

So I've been reverse commuting to Newark and driving from there to work for the past 3.5 years. Never had an issue. There are signs posted there (and at Churchman's Crossing and Claymont) that no overnight parking is allowed, but this had never been enforced. DART is now enforcing this policy though...
Trains can't run from the West Chester line to the lower level of 30th st. From that direction, only the Wilmington/Newark line can reach the lower level of 30th st.
2307 broke down tonight on train 9254 (pm inbound from Newark) at Ridley Park. Couldn't get it going again...we were transferred onto the following train, 1256.
Yes there has been. It was closed a while ago (in the 80's I think) because of crime concerns. The end inside the Amtrak station is located where Bridgewater's Pub is currently located and is blocked off. The end inside the El station is still visible...at the end of the concourse before heading up ...
So it looks like the Wilmington/Newark line will be operating out of 30th St lower level for those weekends.
