Well, we rolled into North Walpole/Bellows Falls around 1740hrs on 7 June and discovered the BF-1 locomotives idling in the North Walpole yard. We poked around the Bellows Falls station and waiting until around 1840hrs and those locomotives never moved. We didn't see or hear EDBF coming from the sou...

Is BF-1 a daily job?

I'm back home in New Hampshire for a couple weeks and I thought it would be worth a family trip south to see Pan Am operate in Bellows Falls. Rumor Pace (Railpace) seemed to imply (in the December 2015 issue) that BF-1 was a daily operation during the work week, do they also run to Claremont daily o...

Not to get off topic, but to add to the above question: I used to be down in WRJ frequently in the 90's (grandparents live off sykes), and I'd never seen any mass amount of cars there ever. Usually no more than 3-4 hoppers south of the crossing on the far track; even those were infrequent. The visi...

Is Pan Am doing any interchanging at WJ (perhaps the south B&M yards)?

Not to drag up this dead thread but is there any update to the EDWJ-WJED schedule? I only go back home to visit once a year but I'm hearing reports of more regular Pan Am traffic north of Claremont NH. Are they still running "as needed" or is this now a regular freight with a weekly schedu...

Thank you for your responses... it gives me something to go on for additional research. Do you know if B&M supplied their own racks or if the racks were run-through from mid-western roads?

Thank you all for your responses. I had seen a photo of one of the BL2s crossing the Connecticut River bridge at Wells River-Woodsville so I had an idea that they may have spent their waning years up north. They were an interesting locomotive, I find it odd that B&M never had MU equipment instal...

I'm getting needy now. Does anyone have any photos and/or information about the use of tri-level open Trailer Train equipment on the B&M, hopefully equipment actually leased by and marked for the B&M? I have seen photos of these cars in B&M consists, and model do exist marked for the B&a...

B&M BL2s in local service

Does anyone have any photos of B&Ms BL2s in actual local service? I've seen a few here and there in magazines but I have to believe that there are more out there. I am trying to do some personal research into their use on the B&M, specifically the types of consists they pulled (passenger vs....

There's still more to be found in the water and in the woods surrounding the wreck site, I didn't really have time to explore because I was on a walk with my family. Next year I would like to get out there and explore a bit more... I'm not sure where the state owned right of way ends and people's pr...

It can easily go both ways in my mind. When I return home to New Hampshire for my annual vacation I run on the Northern Rail Trail pretty much every day. I really enjoy the opportunity it provides as a running path and an opportunity to retrace the B&M Northern line I spent much of my early life...

Just an update, I was out at the rock cut yesterday and poked around a bit more than normal. The woods around the rocks are littered with tie plates and spikes. Various pieces of what appear to be freight cars are scattered about, at least one was lodged under a rock near the water, a piece of twist...

Ahhhh... I managed to locate the missing photos. I will post them here (they all came to me via BMCDR, so if you do not approve of their having been reposted, feel free to have them removed)... there will be multiple posts because there are 7 photos total: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll267/bu...

Actually, I think I did save the photos on a portable hard drive somewhere. If bmcdr doesn't have them available, I may be able to track them down.
