The selector switch is the same as the 42 L-trail, test, freight, pass-R with the ability to bail only with the independent. Then were the slow speed backing dial is located that's where are mode change knob and push button is located. A little extra info for ya

Dual mode is the same set up as a 42 only difference is you can only "bail" with the independent.

Charger was in Rennselaer for about a month I saw it, moved it with a new GP38-3 and that was about it for the Charger for me. Plenty of my fellow raccoons received a class but I did not. Can not wait till one shows up on 48/448 and they tell me to move it. Move that? How? The 38-3s are nice the onl...

@lensovet To be clear, one ACS-64 is pushing and the other, for lack of a better term, is acting as a "cab car"? Similar to how NJT ran ACES trains? I'm more than aware of how Keystones operate with actual cab cars. I'm just curious to know if when there are locomotives are on both ends, ...

Myself I don't care what color they are as long as they run. The P32ACDM and P42 for all the issues and faults still seem to run better than these Siemens Yugos. The biggest issue I can see from the little to no training I have had is everything is controlled by the computer. Seems if you don't foll...

Saturday, April 20, 2024, Amtrak trains from Penn station to Albany were delayed for about two hours, around 6 pm for bridge inspection of the Spuyten Duyvil bridge. Does anyone know why the bridge was inspected? Normally when this happens it involves something large that floats. Got the info as we...

Without working PTC in the lead, they'd be operating at a restricted speed. Replacing the leader gave them double the speed. Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk Not qualified on that particular rule book but the railroads I am qualified on the loss of PTC (I-ETMS) would restrict you to 59mph passe...

I am qualified on that bit of railroad and a bit of a NYCRR buff. I cant place where there was a depot and I cant find my track charts. I do know there is a brick building marked NYCRR in the stone work but I do not think that it had anything to do with passengers. Plus its to far down on the north ...

Lets just say this has been tried before on planet far far away. Ohh how I hate to use this next couple of words but, the Turbo sets had retractable stairs for business class. They worked ish to never. I can see the same with these new cars.

Any word on how they perform in the winter? I just saw this video with the traps and that looks like a nightmare in Michigan or New York ice. See 0:22 https://youtu.be/MmUoej9MlD8?si=PS0DmrJ6VwtD3Emf We have yet to receive these in Albany, but will wager a guess those retractable steps are going to...

What you didn't see is the Conductor key the doors shut while the train was in motion.

Today was my first experience with an earthquake and I can confidently say I am not a fan. My wife said she got rocked pretty good at the plaza in Albany.
