This is the same SP engine already owned (NYCH 2293) which was rebuilt by Juniata in exchange for the other UPY SW1500 which came with the 1133 (both also technically former SP). The rebuild included modifying the nose to remove the housings for the SP gyra/mars light combo. The NYCH/NYNJ still owns...

Not related to the zip car question but worth mentioning since brought up.. the second order of the E20s were delivered from EMD with the same Nathan P5A's that the E15s had for some time, which is what you hear in this video. The horn on the 277 that Doc is referencing is an early Nathan K5LA that ...

The three tool cars in Dunkirk are the remains of the former B&M coaches, the same class as the W85 in LD (and W86 which has since been cut up).

The customers that were lost were lost for a reason; while it would be nice to say that there's a diversified amount of service on each branch of the railroad, at the end of the day it was/would continue to be a royal pain to run all the way out to Southold or Port Jefferson to spot 2 loads and noth...

Hacks 52 or 62 ... I thought NY & Atl only had 62 & 65, with 65 not suitable for any kind of use ? Therefore it's 62 ? C-65 is over at the LIRC painted green and blue, carrying the number 105. "Wheelspur" (new location on the south side) has also been completely cleared out for so...

The 167 had been sitting in the roundhouse getting the new speed control installed for a good year to year and a half, and was in fresh paint inside for the majority of that time.

As Emfinite says, these are the remnants of the small fleet of former B&M coaches that the LI had. The W85 in LD is one of these, as was the W86.

The land that Arch St. sits on has become increasingly valuable as of late, and considering the Montauk cutoff is falling to pieces, relocating the team yard to the south side of the former Wheelspur location is a win-win for everyone. As has been said, Wheelspur was last utilized as a storage yard ...
