Re: NS Hazelton Job

Get there at sunrise and you should be able to get 13T,H67 eastbound maybe a late running CP 259 westbound. The local H-66 only goes all the way to Palmerton on Mon. Wed. Fridays. on the other days it turns back at Treichlers or Northampton

Re: NS Hazelton Job

I would say between 6 and 8 am are your best times to find the H-67 eastbound from Lehighton. You may have a chance of getting CP 259 in that same time frame. H67 sometime waits at Lehighton for the 259 to come west or 259 waits for H-67 coming east to Cata.

Re: Auto racks on CNJ North of Allentown

The train you seen was 13T and it has auto's most days. That part of the Lehigh Line west of Allentown has most of its traffic at night. As you said the only daylight job is the H-66 or H74 which run daily except Sat. If 13T is running late you may have a chance of getting something in the early mor...

Re: Union Street Interlocking. Allentown, PA

Steve just want to clear up some confusion the foundation next to Union St was the tower. The big concrete slab you see is most likely from an building that once was Morris Black. The Barber branch was LV and left the LV main at Union St and went around the back of Morris Black and then crossed the ...

Re: Union Street Interlocking. Allentown, PA

Steve I just looked at your pictures and yes the foundation was where the tower stood. The CNJ crossed the LV across the street. The single track bridge was once part of the LV Barber Branch. It hard to imagine all that was there looking at it now.

Re: upturn in freight on RV line?

The box cars you see at Damio are for GAF which also gets 2 boxcars a night on the eastbound at Damio. GAF has to many cars on hand at Manville yard and is using Damio off of track 1 to help unload the cars and cut down on the amount being held at Manville. NS only has 4 customers left on the RV lin...

Re: Southern Tier - East of Binghamton

What advantage would it be for NS to run 12T/13T down the S Tier east of Bing? Where would the train go in Jersey? I just don't see any reason to run this train that way.

I hear NS is going to rebuild the yard at Port Jervis to handle all the traffic coming to the Tier. It will have a mainline fueling station.
