Re: SEPTA mdbf per vehicle type

What is MDBF?

In case others are also wondering, please answer directly, not with a suggestion that I Google it. If you want to link directly to a site that spells it out and defines it, please make it a supplemental to your answer, not your only answer.

Thanks in advance.

There have been at least three pedestrians hit by SEPTA Regional Rail trains in Montgomery County this month. Amazingly, one actually survived. It was probably not a direct hit. I think that the train crew didn't even realize that they hit someone. Yes, Montgomery County's Coroner is elected, althou...

2308 died on 6325 yesterday at Langhorne. Diesel 52 rescued and towed it to Frazer for repairs. If it's needed to be out of service all week, that may explain why the West Trenton line only had one push pull this week, instead of the customary two they've had for the past several months. I figured ...

Septa charges an onboard walk on fare, call it what you want but it's not a penalty, a penalty is what NJT charges when you board without a ticket, septa gives you a discount if you buy before hand (if you can), however we are drifting off the OPs original thread. I noticed Warminster got an extra ...

Train 328 on 3/28 (2017) had 175-176-177-178 in order from front to rear.

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to learn my line's Saturday schedule last summer.

The West Trenton line has had two push-pull sets in each rush hour since the normal schedules resumed last fall. The morning train numbers are 6321 and 6325. The afternoon ones are 6374 and 6378.

I almost never see 2308 on the West Trenton line, but it led 6321 on Monday morning, February 27.

There will be an almost two-hour gap between West Trenton departures on weekday early evenings from 5:27 pm (train 3755, currently at 5:23) to 7:24 pm. Train 376 will now turn to 373 at Woodbourne. Last Wednesday, January 18, the trainset that came out at 6370 to turn as 3755 broke down in the yard ...

More Regional Rail Schedule Changes in Early 2017?

SEPTA's new page about improved on-time performance at http://www.septa.org/service/rail/improvement/otp.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; refers to more schedule changes coming up in January 2017. I suspect that the West Trenton line is going to be a focus of these. Very...

Silverliner V cars 821, 822, 823, and 824 have been traveling together at least since Wednesday, December 28. They would have been seen in sequence if 823 and 824 hadn't been flipped. 823 leads Pennsy-bound trains, while the set's other car, 713, leads Reading-bound trips, with 821 right behind it. ...

Silverliner V cars 823 and 824 were reversed as of last night. I wonder if they came back from the emergency repairs reversed or if something happened since then. They're still switched. Twice this week, I sat in the railfan seat in 823 on inbound West Trenton line trains and watched the view ahead...

There is also one other "missing" segment of this trail: south, from the park in Rockledge where the current southern terminus is located to Rhawn Street and then across to the Fox Chase Station.

3755 was a full 5-car train of turned cars today - married pair 149-150 plus three singles, including 292 and 406.

This week, I have also seen the following reversed: 312-313, 708, 408, and 143-144. Plus a few whose numbers I can't recall.

Friday, December 9, two single cars with pantographs facing each other led train 3755. The second car was 294. I compared these pantographs with that of a married pair in the usual orientation that were the third and fourth cars on this train. 294 was oriented the expected way. Whatever the lead car...
