So an internal email by A.M. from MTAHQ was sent out today pertaining to this upcoming scanning, along with some basic Q&A. In all my years of working for the railroad, I have never seen such swift change such as this. T&E labor have yet to agree to anything yet, however the railroad has ins...

I think this upcoming “scanning” might have the biggest influence with conductor flags and yard crews with T&E. At least on MN, all of the rolling stock have cameras and they are already required to “sign in” at a computer terminal. ADL, out of all the years they report earnings this is by far t...

An email was sent to all employees within MN today about the discussed issue above. In bold specifically, states that it will encompass all employees whether they were part of Kronos or not. There are almost 200 Kronos time clocks that will be replaced system wide and the project to deploy this upgr...

The money they’re going to save with RAS signals they’re going to spend more with wear and tear on the rolling stock. At least that was the case on MN.

To answer your question in short, it is a very controlled and organized day. There is gating in Grand Central for the outbound trains leaving between midnight and 5am. A good handful of regular assignments are changed to accommodate the modified service as well as extra assignments. I never minded w...

Some word going around that MN may be borrowing some P40's from Amtrak.

Hopefully the new engines will be better than the god awful BL-20’s.

Unit more equipment is purchased and increased reliability along with better financial health of CT will you see any improvements in service. We can barely maintain the service we currently run. I wouldn’t expect to see anything materialize for years to come.

njgrptfan - You can always just take a nap on the train. I think you're splitting hairs here.

Well, Mr. Giulietti pulled the pin earlier than expected. July 25th was his last day and Ms. Rinaldi is acting president until they announce someone on a permanent basis.

The 6696 has been prepped to be sent out leaving only 6697 and 6699 active on the SLE roster for the GP-40's.
