The arguement about pole and bungalow location is that it’s an unnecessary additional expense to relocated the installation after it’s been installed and running, whereas installing it so as to facilitate future expansion which may or may not happen would save massive expenses in having to redo the ...

That’s nothing new for them. They’re really foolish with the installation of poles and bungalows. They install them too close to the existing main while smack dam in the middle of the location where a former siding or a double main can be installed if that route is warranted in the future. Doing is ...

Heard on the grapevine, there is a proposal to install bi-directional traffic and automatic block signaling between Riverhead and Ronkonkoma by 2030-3035+/-. These upgrades should accompany a track speed increase back 65 for passengers between the 2 locations with the 20 restriction becoming 15 due ...

The question is will relocating the station make it “walkable” for the developments around the Wm Floyd pky? Is it solely for the purpose a a mega park and ride multi modal facility? Is it a necessary to facilitate the proposed extension at BRT? Otherwise Theres no reason to spends that much. They n...

If I recall correctly, the C3 designs no longer meets updated safety requirements changed since the mid 1990s, thus would need to be redesigned in the ends of the cars. With the cost of a new car today and the NJT style MLV on the market the C3s will remain an orphan fleet. The ship set sail Over 20...

Is there any reason besides financial ones why you guys didn’t put linoleum flooring over the plywood?
Is the paint that sufficient such that foot traffic won’t wear it down?

Both signal bridges are still there today.
All switches are gone.
Remains of the team and coal trestle are still there. As is the foundation of win tower.

It’s a very shortsighted move to not restore more of Win as part of the new “wood” interlocking

The MTA has this data.
The numbers were substantially less than what we have East of KO.

That’s what some crews do westbound at Glen St and Bellport.
Key open one door. It works fine that way too.
However making even less of a platform wouldn’t really Make sense unless you’re doing a non ADA compliant Wooden deck with stairs.

It’s there. Look at the teal and you see a very large 4
Then using the lit circle as the bottom
You can see a smaller 8

The pond secondary in the map appears to be the west leg of the wye which I believed to have always been single track.
It appears to have been interlocked at Both ends with signals at POND and FREEMONT.
Much has changed since the degradation of the lines over time.

But it won’t be broadcasted here first. Be patient. The MTA is a government entity. Nothing happens fast.

Yes they did change some markers to reference to “UNITS” and it’s to include engines in the count with operating diesel equipment. For example a 1E+4 car diesel set would be 5 units and a 2 engine and 8 car DM is “10” units. The idea was to simplify a simple concept. Well it didn’t really achieve th...

If I understand correctly. If you swapped the type of 3rd rail shoe to the system You’re running on, as long as the home roads M3s are leading I don’t think there would be much difference or issues. There may be smaller differences that I may be unaware of. Provided there is no difference other than...
