Much easier to get off your train at Back Bay Station, which is only a couple of blocks from the finish line. When you're done watching racers come over the finish line (some take 12 hours to finish!), go for a ride on the T before your return trip.

C,

The remaining cars at the Height's Yard are no longer allowed out of the yard. Haven't heard when they're going to be scrapped, yet. There is no repair work being done to these cars.

The current Blue Line rule is to shut down service if the water is over the running rail. The water gets into the gearbox and contaminates the oil. If I recall correctly, it's an eight hour repair for each truck. While there was a x-over east of Aquarium a few years ago, it was a very dangerous loca...

Two large "Claws" working together. One would pick up a car off the trucks, lay it on its side, lift it high, shake it, then drop it a couple times. Next, one would hold as the other would peel the car apart like a banana. Load the junk into 18 wheeler dumps and away they went. Someone was...

As far as trying to go to school while working part-time, when you first come on, you will likely be on the "list." You will call for your next day's work around 2 pm. You can be assigned a 6 hour shift at 5am, 7pm or anywhere in between. You may also be assigned someone's regular work whi...

1. Yes, very likely as a CSA. 2. No, but a friend can help guide you through a new situation. 3. Yes, it can help you reading rail and general handling of the train..... and no, if you come in thinking the T does things the same way as a group of volunteers at a museum or if you come in thinking tha...

Actually, on Rapid, everyone will now have to qualify as a motorperson. You might still pick work as a Train Attendant, but you have to be able to drive the train. This includes full-timers from the Orange and Blue working on the Red. This was never done before.

OK, enough with guessing. When you're lucky enough to get called in the lottery, you go though some testing.... maybe 6 months (or less) later, you'll get called for your physical. Then, you get called to report. If you picked Train Attendant, you'll go to the Rapid Transit (Red, Orange, Blue.) If y...

While the new platforms are finished, the cement needs to cure for 30 days before the final (blue) surface goes down. The contractor elected to use this week to put the final surface in the lobby areas whick are old concrete underneath. This requires removing existing tile, taking a layer off, rough...

Keep in mind, all of the T is going digital at some point. Won't be scanable. The project (like most) is behind schedule.

They were the last pullout in tonight's evening rush. Just out for a couple of trips, unless they juggled to keep it out.

If you see a 'test train' during service hours they are accepted by the T.
Actually, very shortly you will see "Test Trains" breaking in (no passengers) anytime time off peak. This is part of the acceptance procedure.
